Lake Pleasant Park with Jim Consolloy

March 11, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Lake Pleasant Regional Park Field Trip: Friday, March 11th, 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Bring water, windbreaker, a hat, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, snacks and a scope if you have one. We will have a few scopes to share.

Drive past the South Entrance to the park on Hot Springs Road to the North Entrance. At this Tee intersection, turn right and stop at the guard booth. Entrance fee is $7 per carload. Just past the guard booth on the right there is a small parking area where we will gather.

From there we will drive to the Cottonwood Ramada area, first drive on the right, where there are restrooms and our first birding area. We will continue to the lake overlook area by the boat ramp before leaving the North end of the park. From there we will drive on a well graded gravel road to the Castle Creek entrance to the lake. With water levels rising we will park and walk along the paved are over the bridged culverts where we expect to see a lot more waterfowl and marshland birds. On the way back from Castle Creek we will stop at the South entrance, show your pass, and proceed to the Discovery Center overlook. There are restrooms in that area. Please email Jim Consolloy at [email protected] to confirm that you will be joining us. Leave a cell phone number, if you are driving and who will be carpooling with you.
