Arlington with Kathy Dashiell

Monday, January 16, 2023, 8 a.m. – Buckeye/Arlington
Trip Description: Traveling by car next to ditches and fields, to Lower River Road Ponds in Arlington. Typical birds – Burrowing Owl, Mourning Dove, Blackbirds, Grackle, Blue Heron, Egrets, Kingfisher (on occasion), White-faced Ibis, Cormorants, several duck species and grebes on the ponds and usually, several kinds of raptors. We will be on the lookout for migrants of all types.
Activity Level: Mostly traveling by car; minimal walking – step outside car for observation and photos.
What to Bring: Binoculars(!!),camera, packed lunch, plenty of water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable shoes (masks optional) for stops along the way at minimum. Bring some cash to reimburse carpool drivers for gas – sharing is caring.
Meeting Location: Parking lot of the Chevron Station off Exit #121 from the I-10 and Jackrabbit Trail at 8:00 AM. Turn right at end of ramp and right again into the Chevron station. We will carpool from there.
