SUMMARY:Mini-Big Day with Kathe Anderson
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, January 23\, 2024 – Mini-Big Day: (from Top of the World to the\nGilbert Water Ranch\, with spots in between): This is a fast-paced field\ntrip to a variety of habitats to see as many birds as we can before lunch\n(about 1:30ish). We’ve usually tallied between 65-75 species\, and always\nhave a few nice surprises. We’ll start about 7am from Gilbert\, head east to\nthe oak/juniper habitat of Top of the World at about 4\,500’ and work our\nway back to Gilbert\, to bird at least 3 different habitats. Locations will be\nchosen right before the trip\, but Oak Flat\, Queen Valley\, and the Gilbert\nWater Ranch are likely. Finish about 2:30ish at the Water Ranch.\nDifficulty—3+\, for fast pace and miles covered. Limited to 7 vaccinated\nparticipants who are members of Sonoran Audubon (opening to others at\ntwo weeks prior to the trip date if there is room).
