We drive along the Bush Highway (north of Mesa) between Granite Reef Dam and Saguaro  Lake, making several stops in recreation areas along the Salt River.  A day’s list of fifty species of birds is very possible, including Osprey, Vermilion Flycatcher, Anna’s Hummingbird,  Phainopepla, Black-tailed Gnatcatcher, and Black Phoebe.  Beautiful views of a Bald Eagle are very reliable.

A Tonto National Forest day use parking pass is necessary for drivers.

Bring a lunch, and a scope, if available.  We will meet in the Walgreen’s parking lot on the southeast corner of Power and McKellips Roads at 7:30 A.M.

Difficulty: 1.

Limit: 15 participants.
