Surf and Birds!   A special Sonoran Audubon trip with Kathe Anderson to Huntington Beach, California, to visit some of the nation’s best birding areas.
We will look for gulls, terns (Forster’s, Least, Elegant, and Caspian nest here), Black Skimmer, Snowy and Black-bellied Plovers, sandpipers (Ruddy Turnstone, Marbled Godwit, etc.), Downy and Nuttall’s Woodpeckers, Red-shouldered Hawk, and California specialties such as Wrentit, California Towhee, and the introduced Scaly-breasted Munia.  The tides will determine where we go and when.  We plan to visit Bolsa Chica Wetlands, San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary  and Huntington Central Park.
This trip is limited to 2 cars and reservations should be made early so we can book hotel rooms.  For more information and reservations contact Barb Meding.
