We had an interesting start to our trip to Yarnell when we almost ran over a Roadrunner crossing the road, but he took flight and escaped unharmed. The stream in Yarnell Park was flowing and we saw a pair of Blue Grosbeaks and lots of Lesser Goldfinches drinking along the banks. We hiked the stream area and up into the desert scrub where we saw Spotted Towhee and a close up view of a Canyon Towhee.

Leaving the Park we traveled to the Shrine and walked down the road. Acorn Woodpeckers and Kingbirds nest in the trees. Phainopeplas were flying over everywhere. A Cooper's Hawk was getting chased off by the Kingbirds.
