Lake Pleasant

Donna Smith and Ranger Terry Garber led the birding trip to Lake Pleasant for Birders' Anonymous and Sonoran Audubon Society members.

Those attending were Ken Larsen, HelenJean Story, Kira Kremer, Jack & Dawn Linn, Carolyn Modeen, Betty Roberts, Doris Hill, Lee &Phyllis Rosander, Maxine Wilkinson, Andrea Nesbitt, Phyllis Ertz, Ann McDermott, Ron Lalonda,and Ricki Carlson.

Since it rained the night before, Morgan City Wash was a washout; so they walked the Pipeline Trail.

Seen were House Finch, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Black-throated Sparrow, Rock Wren, Northern Flicker, Violet-green Swallow, Rough-winged Swallow, Turkey Vulture, Gambel's Quail, heard a Canyon Wren, Mourning Dove, Red-tailed Hawk, Costa's Hummingbird, Mallard, Great-tailed Grackle, Northern Cardinal, Cactus Wren, and Phainopepla. When they got down the trail to the water, a few went on across the water and saw Abert's Towhee, Curved-billed Thrasher, Verdin, Black-tailed Gnat Catcher, Bewick's Wren, Gila Woodpecker, Lesser Goldfinch, Common Raven, and a Ladderback Woodpecker.
