We birded along the Agua Fria below Arcosanti moving up stream.  The weather was sunny and mild with the wind kicking up later in the morning.  Fall foliage was excellent with yellows and some oranges and red.  Unfortunately, the birding was a little slow except for Ruby-crowned Kinglets.  It seemed like every tree had one.

The 24 birds we saw were: Gambel's Quail; Red-tailed Hawk; Morning Dove; Red-naped Sapsucker; Hairy Woodpecker; "Red-shafted" Woodpecker; Black Phoebe; Say's Phoebe; Loggerhead Shrike; Common Raven; Bridled Titmouse; Verdin; Rock Wren; Canyon Wren; Ruby-crowned Kinglet; Western Bluebird; European Starling; Spotted Towhee; Vesper Sparrow; White-crowned Sparrow; Northern Cardinal; Western Meadowlark; Goldfinch; House Finch.

Birding this day was: Eleanor Campbell, Chuck Richard, Ian Jeffrey, Marily McMahon, Fran Baughman, Jed Fulkerson (from Oak Creek village) and Chuck and Loretta Richards.

At the conclusion of the birding we adjourned to the Arcosanti Cafe for a tasty lunch.
